siteground hosting

This post contains affiliate links. This means I will make a commission at no extra cost to you should you click through and make a purchase. Read the full disclosure here.

If you’re reading this, there is a good chance it means you’re unhappy with your current hosting company and looking to switch. Or, you’re just trying to decide who your first hosting company is going to be.

Either way, I’ve been there before. Choosing a web host is hard. But you’ve come to the right place! In this post, I’ll give you #of reasons why you should switch your hosting to siteground!

The number of features Siteground offers is insane, even with the cheapest plan! Here’s a shot of what they actually offer:

There’s a lot to look at, so I want to go over some of my favorite features.

-Free WP Migrator

If you’re going to be switching hosts, they have a plugin you can install to easily switch your site over for free. When I switched over from my last host, I wanted to make sure it was done right, so I actually paid them $40 to do it.

However, I like that the free option is there so you can do it yourself!

-Free SSL Certificate

An SSL certificate is important to have because it keeps information on your site, from you and your readers, safe.

According to this site here, “An SSL certificate encrypts (and in turn, protects) all data exchanges between a website and its visitors.”

It lets your readers know they can give you information like their email and it will be safe! The little lock next to the URL search bar will tell you if your site has one.

-Daily Backups

This is one of the most important features, in my opinion. Backing up your site is super important! Things can go wrong in an instant, your site could crash, break, or be hacked. I’ve heard of people losing their entire sites before and all of their work goes with it!

So the fact that Siteground will back up your site, for free, automatically each day? It’s a blessing!

-Free CDN

A CDN essentially makes your website load faster for visitors in different geographical locations. And having a fast-loading site is not only important to keep your visitors happy, but it keeps Google happy too!

-Free email address

You might be wondering, why does this matter? I can get a free email address from Google.

And while, yes, you can. There is a very good reason why you want this feature.

When you start an email list to collect subscribers for your blog, you can use a service like Convertkit, which will allow you to use a Google email address.

However, they recommend that you don’t do that. Your emails will be more likely to end up in the spam folders if you don’t have a “personalized” email address.

So, for example instead of having businesswomenthrive@gmail .com, I now have sarah@businesswomenthrive .com

You really want to get your own personalized email address because what’s the point in sending emails out to subscribers if there is a chance they’ll end up in spam and never be read? Plus, having a personal email just looks more professional.

The reason this is even better though is normally you’d have to pay for a separate service to get an email like this, so it’s great that this is offered for free with your plan!

-30 Day Money-back guarantee

This feature is good for obvious reasons. If you don’t like the service, you don’t have to worry! You can get your money back within 30 days.

These features are offered in all of the packages, so I won’t mention them in the next package. I’m just going to go over what else I like in the next plans.

-Unlimited websites

I love the fact that you can have unlimited websites with this plan. That’s insane to me! As someone who wants to run a second blog at some point, I love that you can have the option to run as many blogs as you want in the future for no extra cost.

-On-demand backup copies

You have the option to make up to 5 copies of your site whenever you want. This is good if you are planning on testing out a new theme or code and are worried about messing up your site.

-Speed boosting cashing

So this is just another way that Siteground works to speed up your site, on top of the CDN that comes with this plan. Speed is super important online nowadays!

This gives you the option to make an offline copy of your site. That way you can make any changes you want without it being published to the live site. Pretty handy!

– Allows for estimated ~100,000 visits monthly

This is obviously a huge amount of traffic and I like that Siteground has a high threshold for site visits for when your site grows to be bigger!

-Highest tier of resources

Your site is a top priority. It loads faster, you use more data than on the other plans, and just in general, your site is a higher priority.

-Priority support

You get connected in chat faster and are connected to the most knowledgeable people behind the scenes.

While Sitegrounds plans are not the cheapest around, for the number of features they offer the price is unbeatable!

If we take, for example, my last hosting company Namecheap. Their prices are cheaper than Siteground, but I had to buy an SSL certificate for $8.88 a year.

On top of that, Siteground offers a free email address which, as I mentioned, is normally something you’d have to pay for.

So, once you actually add everything u that you’re getting- Siteground will actually be saving you money!

Whenever I have a question about my site or a problem that rarely ever happens, I’m always connected in chat pretty quickly. Everyone is always so friendly and my problems are resolved quickly.

When you do contact chat, you get to see a picture of who you’re talking to, their name, how many people they have helped, and their rating. There is also a profile of theirs you can check out.

It’s a nice feature in my opinion to know exactly who you’re talking to and how they are rated!

You can’t get much better than that! Siteground is officially endorsed and recommended by WordPress. And, if you do any amount of research you’ll find that a lot of other bloggers recommend them as well!

The whole reason I got Siteground in the first place was because of how highly it was talked about on social media, and other blogs. And the fact that WordPress itself agrees was enough to get me to switch!

Siteground is a great web host to have, but it can be a bit expensive to start out on. If you’re looking for another great host, I highly recommend starting out on Namecheap.

I, personally, don’t think they are as good as Siteground, but they are perfect to start out with!

Whatever host you go with, make sure you do your research and pick the one that’s best for you!
