It has been such a long time since I’ve done an analytic report here on the blog! So this is my September 2022 YouTube income and analytic report!

I’ve been posting way more to my YouTube channel lately- one to three videos a week!

So, if you want to follow my journey on YouTube, I highly recommend it for more regular content!

And if you’d like the watch the video analytic report instead, check out the video here!

Why share income reports?

But first, let’s talk about why I share these income and analytic reports.

I am very open about the income I am making, even when it isn’t some impressive number like a lot of bloggers can share.

And I do this for a few reasons. One is because I like to share my progress.

There are so many income reports out there that you can read about how someone made thousands of dollars bloggingI am not that person (Not yet at least!)

And when I was just starting blogging, and even after when I was in my first or second year, seeing these reports was more discouraging than helpful.

Why can this person make $1,000 in their second month? Why can they scale their income so quickly and I’m stuck at zero?

What am I doing wrong?

Should I quit?

The comparison of me to other successful bloggers ended up being my downfall.

It got to a point where they were hurtful- not helpful.

And I am sure that this is the same for other bloggers as well.

So, I want these small income reports to be a breath of fresh air. To show small bloggers that this thing is possible! Even if you aren’t making it big.

September 2022 YouTube Income and Analytic Report!

These posts are also great for connecting with my audience.

I don’t do any prior keyword research for these posts, there is no pressure to rank on the first page of Google.

And, it’s also great for me! It keeps me on track and shows the progress (or lack thereof) that I’m making each month!

Youtube stats and content posted

Let’s start by taking a look at my YouTube stats for the month and the content that I posted this month.

I have put the blog on the back burner for now, so the only thing to go over is YouTube.

I made the decision to stop blogging for a bit and focus on my channel because that is what’s currently working for me!

youtube analytics

My channel did pretty well in September. I didn’t surpass what I did in August, but overall I am still happy with the results!

For reference, this is how my channel did in August. It was a great month, so it was tough to try and top!

My stats appear to look way less in September, but the only reason for that is I posted a YouTube Short that got 690 views so it makes everything else look tiny in comparison!

In terms of posting, I missed two uploads on the 6th and the 29th. Which isn’t great, but I at least had a good reason!

The missed upload on the 29th was not as upsetting to me because it was a really chaotic week. I took two days off for my birthday on the 25th, which made me almost miss my upload for the 27th.

If I didn’t vlog on my birthday, I would have missed it.

I also posted two shorts this month which did pretty well, so that was good to see!

I don’t expect much out of my shorts, I don’t really have a strategy.I just post them when and if I have time or if I feel like it.

These were clips from my lake house vlog, which was a good video if you haven’t watched it yet!

September goals- Did I hit them?

Now let’s talk a bit about my goals for the month. I didn’t have many of them.

  • Hit 3,500 watch hours on YouTube
  • Update old thumbnails
  • Post 9 videos

First, let’s go over the watch hour goal.

I never talk about YouTube on the blog, so you may have no idea what that is or why it’s important.

Watch hours are one of the important metrics for getting monetized. And it just essentially means how many hours of your content has been watched.

To get monetized on YouTube (which means you make money for the ads run on your videos) you need two things;

  • 4,000 watch hours in 12 months
  • 1,000 subscribers

For September, my goal was to hit 3,500 watch hours. I ended up blowing past that goal and hitting 3,600 watch hours!

This is what the YouTube tracker page looks like.

I’m super late to writing this post, so I’ve super blown past the goal at this point, but here’s the page anyway!

For my other goals, I wanted to update some old thumbnails which I did not do, and I wanted to post 9 videos.

I’m not sure if I want to count this one as done or not because I posted 7 long-form videos and 3 shorts.

Which, technically counts as 9… But I made that goal with the intention of posting only long-form videos, not Shorts.

However, I still could technically count that as done!

September income

My income is nothing exciting this month, but I want to share it anyway for the reasons I stated at the beginning of the post.

I’ve been blogging for a while and I’ll be honest… I still have no clue what I’m doing.

I am just doing my best to find my passion in the online space.

For a while there I was making good money with Pinterest management, but to be honest- I hated it.

Now don’t get me wrong, the work was great, the pay was great and so were the clients.

But, my heart wasn’t in it and I was super bored.

So, I finally decided to cut out the Pin management. Even if it made me money, above all it made me unhappy.

And that wasn’t worth the money to me!

2023 UPDATE: I very rarely do Pinterest management still (It’s not my favorite pass time) so instead, I’ve found other freelancing jobs that I enjoy way better! Check all my services out here.

my September 2022 YouTube Income and Analytic Report!

I did still make $79.67 though for the month of September!

I had a leftover Pin client I was working with and made two sales of my Pinterest pins templates

Could I have made more had I continued Pin management? Yes.

But being happy with my work matters more to me!

October goals

I also want to look toward to month ahead in October and what I plan to do!

October goals are honestly going to be much of the same, nothing too crazy.

  • 3,700 watch hour goal. And, if I can hit that- then 3,800 is the next goal!
  • Post 9 videos minimum, 11 if possible

My biggest goal is to get monetized on YouTube by the end of the year, and it looks like I may be able to do that by the end of November, or the beginning of December!

I’d also like to hear your goals for October, and how you did in September- let me know in the comments below. Or check out more from me:
